Kim Norlien creates a magnificent scene from his remembrance of an adventurous canoe trip with his daughter, Rachel. Kim and Rachel enjoyed many relaxing evenings around the campfire on their trip. Every night, before they went to sleep, they always remembered to hang their food pack in the trees. Early one morning, while Kim was shooting photography across the bay and Rachel was resting in the tent, their good habits were tested. Two bears wandered into their campsite in search of food. The bears quickly left, and Rachel was very brave. The emotions of fear and excitement that came over both of them inspired Kim to paint this painting for his daughter, Rachel Anna Norlien. |
