Best known for creating scenes of beauty with breathtaking realism, Kim Norlien is one of America's most collected artists. He has exhibited his art in shows throughout the United States and his museum-quality originals are highly regarded by collectors.
Growing up in
an entrepreneurial family, Kim Norlien has a creative spirit and a strong work
ethic that laid the foundation for his art career. He is a self-taught painter,
and his full-time fine art career began in 1995. Since then, he has gone on to
win numerous awards, duck stamps and has published over seventy originals. As an
artist, Kim Norlien believes all of creation reflects God's glory and nothing is impossible
with the Lord and His guidance in our lives.
It is his hope and prayer
that his artwork will continue to be a source of encouragement to others around
the world.
When they
are not traveling, Kim and his wife Lori reside at their country home in
central Minnesota, where his studio and gallery overlook beautiful wetlands and
farmland. They are proud parents and grandparents of four grown children, and eight grand-children.
Kim Norlien was raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and spent his childhood summers enjoying nature and being up at the lake with his grandparents and family in rural Minnesota. The beauty of creation inspired Kim Norlien to become an artist. Mr. Norlien’s passion for his art is only exceeded by his faith in God and his love for his family and friends.
Painting predominately in acrylics, Mr. Norlien complements his
technical detail with a skillful interplay of light and shadow. The
result is subtle, yet powerful – vibrant, lifelike, and compelling. Complementing his detail, Kim Norlien has become well known for his use of hidden images within many of his paintings. He believes these hidden images can be conversation pieces for families to enjoy art together.
